Person

Jeanroy 34 I:354 1250-1300; Gr 104 2 cansos, only in MS a, où la rubrique porte au reste Reimonz Rascas; [lost] According Jeanroy 1934:422, Nostradamus (??ed , p133) changed the first name of Raimon Rascas in order to connect the troubadour name with a known jurist from Avignon, Bernart Rascas, who founded l'Hôpital de la Trinité in 1355; PC sv Bermon Rascas {PC 104} Ms a, Table has "Bermon Rascas", but a¹ [a¹ 455 (203)] has "Reimonz Rascas". Saverio Guida, "Messa a punto su Bermon "Rascas", Studi Medievali 39 (1998):879-889. p885 "io rimango dall'idea che "Dieus et amors et merci" sia da attribuire a Bermon (e non a Reimon e meno che mai a Bernard) Rascas" -- [886-887] (i) untrustworthy Jacques Teissier mistakenly wrote "Reimon Rascas", (ii) Bernard Rascas is known to have bequeathed his name 1355 to Hopital de la Sainte Trinite in Avignon (Bernart Amoros surely compiled his anthology before 1317). 886: Bermon "Rascas" was a member of a noble family from Uzes. Guida argues that it was Bermondo II d'Uzes (attestato in vita 1208-1233); BEdT Bermon "Rascas", figlio secondogenito di Raimon "Rascas" signore di Uzès [morto nel 1209]: "dopo la scomparsa del fratello maggiore [1211]...[diviene] erede e prosecutore della dinastia" (Guida 1988 [Il trovatore Bermon "Rascas", in Miscellanea di Studi Romanzi offerta a Giuliano Gasca Queirazza, pp. 1369-1403], 373); in relazione, tra l'altro, con Gui de Cavaillon (ibid., 379); Spaggiari 1992 e 1996 identifica il personaggio con Bermon I, attestato fra il 1146 e il 1174; Guida (1997a , p.886) ribadisce [confirms/repeats] l'identificazione col personaggio del primo terzo del sec. 13; BEdT 1999/07/27 generazione 4= 1190-1235, "ante 1234"; BEdT 2.0 2009-02-17 epoca: primo terzo del sec. 13 [Guida]; in docs 1208-1234; DBT 85 hs father was "rascas" 'bald'; ghost? /Reliability/030 Jeanroy, BUT no= PC, Guida; cadetto di una delle famiglie signorili più importanti della Linguadoca, Bermondo II (soprannominato «Rascas») di Uzès, che le carte d’archivio pervenute mostrano attivo tra il 1208 e il 1234; BGST p.381 28 archival references; {PC 104,1} Dieus et amors et merce; his father was "rascas" (tignoso) because of his baldness;
