Frederic II (1194-1250), né à Iesi, roi de Sicile en 1197, roi de Germanie 1216, puis empereur d'Occident en 1220; Chambers 133 lists 12 poems in which he is named; Shepard 1933:90 (edn GausbPuic) élu empereur en 1212; LLazzerini 2001:142 son père = Empereur Henri VI (1165-1197), son grand-père = Frederic Barbararossa; Hohenstaufen (1211-died 1250), crusade 1228, condemned by Innocent IV / excommunicated 1245; shortly after the death of Frederick II in 1250 the Kindgom of Sicily passed to his illegitimate son Manfred; the papacy offered the Sicilian crown to Charles of Anjou, cadet of the French royal house; Ch d'Anjou defeated and killed Manfred in 1266 and established a new French dynasty on the throne of Sicily; l'empereur Frédéric II fut déposé par le Concile de Lyon en 1245, et mourut 1250-11-13;
